Company introduction
Bostadsbolaget is one of Sweden's largest landlords and Gothenburg's oldest public housing company. They own more than 24,600 rental apartments and are represented in 34 areas, divided into three districts in Gothenburg. Every day, their over 400 employees work to create good and secure living environments together with their tenants and other partners. Bostadsbolaget is part of the Framtiden Group, which is a part of the City of Gothenburg. This means they work towards a sustainable city, open to the world.
Assignment
To ensure a safe and sustainable work environment, it is important to have a clear overview of all chemicals used within the organization. A chemical inventory helps identify, document, and manage chemicals in a way that minimizes risks to health and the environment.
As an intern at Bostadsbolaget, you will primarily work on two different tasks, see more below.
Conduct a chemical inventory within the organization.
- Inventory the type and number of products – compare with the company's established chemical list
- Check the storage and signage of areas and chemical cabinets.
- Check that safety data sheets are available for products that require labeling.
- Check that/if there is protective equipment, cleaning materials, etc.
Substitution and phasing out of products
- Investigate better alternatives for products that should be replaced according to the city's environmental goals.
